Former Harare mayor Herbert Gomba has arrived at the Harare Magistrates Court.

Charges relate to using his father’s address when registering as a voter.

Gomba is at court to face charges of perjury and contravening section 37(2)(e) of the Electoral Act Chapter 2:13.

Gomba surrendered himself to the police on Sunday.

 

“The ZRP confirms that Herbert Gomba, former Harare Municipality Mayor, handed himself to the Police on 14/03/22 in the company of his lawyers and is now in police custody. He will appear in court on 16/03/22 for Perjury & contravening section 37(2)(e) of the Electoral Act Ch 2:13,” posted the Zimbabwe Republic Police.
