Former President of Botswana, Ian Seretse Khama has arrived in Lusaka, Botswana from the Republic of South Africa.

Ian Khama arrived in Lusaka this afternoon.

He took to social media to update his followers that he is back in the country to attend the funeral of Zambia’s former President Rupiah Banda who died few days ago.

“Dumelang! I just arrived in Lusaka for the funeral of the Fourth President of the Republic of Zambia, His Excellency Rupiah Bwezani Banda. My deepest sympathies go out to the family, friends and the nation at large. May God comfort you in this difficult time.

 

Rest In Peace. 🙏🏼,” he posted.

Khama had fled Botswana last year after Mokgweetsi sent police officers to arrest him.

 

However, he had denied allegations that he fled the country to South Africa.
