The much anticipated Bindura rally for Citizens Coalition for Change has been banned by the Zimbabwe Republic Police.

In a statement, the Zimbabwe Republic Police said the environment does not qualify for the standards expected by MOPA.

Chamisa was expected to host the rally at Rudhaka Stadium on the 12th of March 2022 ahead of the much anticipated by-elections set for 26th March 2022.

Meanwhile, the Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights say the party is appealing to the court so as to host its rally.

@bamujm has on behalf of @CCCZimbabwe filed urgent application at High Court seeking to overturn @PoliceZimbabwe ban of their Marondera rally scheduled for Saturday. ZRP invoked provisions of MOPA by telling @CCCZimbabwe that its notification is invalid,” posted Zlhr.

In the coming weeks, Chamisa is also expected to host rallies in Beitbridge, Binga, Bindura and Tsholotsho.

In the past few weeks, he held rallies in Harare, Bulawayo and Masvingo.
