Investigators have launched a manhunt for South African soldiers  and policemen who escaped the shootout in Rosettenville in which over 10 people were killed, during an ambush by police.

Police attacked a house in which a group of 25 Zimbabwean, Botswana and South African ‘cash in transit robbers’ were living.

Police were watching the house for over a week and decided to attack as a ‘preventative measure’.

Police spokesperson, Grace Langa confirmed that Investigators are currently looking for two policeman, but did not say anything about the SANDF soldiers.

The 10 firearms found at the scene of the shooting belonged to the SAPS and the SANDF.

The Botswana national has been identified by police as the mastermind of many cash in transit heists.

One of the bodies found lying in the freeway has been identified as that of a policeman who was part of the gang.

Neighbors told Media that they can not believe the men were cash in transit robbers as they were always polite and stayed indoors.
