Prominent journalist Hopewell Chin’ono and MDC A spokesperson Fadzayi Mahere slammed Finance minister Mthuli Ncube for lying about being among the top 5 African finance ministers in a French based newspaper Finqncial Afrik.
Chin’ono said Mthuli make it difficult for himself when he publishes tweets packed with deceit.
“@Financialafrik is Senegalese not French. It is like winning a @HeraldZimbabwe award and one says they won an award from the English Publication @HeraldZimbabwe. It is a LIE Mthuli!”
This comes after Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube said he had been ranked among top five 2021 Treasury heads in Africa by a Senegalese based publication Financial Afrik
Writing on social media, Mthuli said he is pleased to have been voted and ranked in the top 5 by the French publication “Financial Afrik”.
“I am very pleased to have been voted and ranked in the top 5 Ministers of Finance in Africa in 2021 by the French publication “Financial Afrik”. This is based on a popular vote and qualitative analysis of candidates, and considered by a jury.(1/2) https://financialafrik.com/wp-content/upl”
Mahere added that Mthuli Zimbabeams cannot be led by deceitful leaders, new people should come into power.
“The winner of your accolade lied to us that you are French. He has also lied that we have a surplus. He lied that the economy is growing. He lied that he would launch a space satellite. @MthuliNcubehas lied our economy to death. We need new leaders”, said Mahere
Responding to Mahere and Hopewell Chin’ono the Financial Afrik said: For some African brothers, the value should only come from western countries. Proud to be an African media.Well Understood. We just haven’t to think that being French must necessary give more credibility than being African media”
