The Harare city council has resumed demolishing illegal structures.
On Monday, the Harare City council demolished illegal structures in Chitungwiza, a town close to Harare.
According to multiple sources, hundreds were left in tears following the demolition of the illegal structures.
Last year the council of Harare demolished illegal structures in many different parts of Harare including illegal structures at Mbare.
The demolitions were carried out despite residents’ associations filing an urgent High Court application seeking to bar government and local authorities from implementing the exercise.
