Vice President Constantino Chiwenga is representing President Emmerson Mnangagwa at the SADC extra-ordinary summit in Malawi to review the mandate of the SADC mission in Cabo Delgado, Mozambique.

Chiwenga arrived in Lilongwe this Wednesday and will later join regional leaders as talks continue on the situation is Mozambique.

The summit kicked off on Tuesday, with the secretariat making it clear that acts of terrorism will not be tolerated in the region.

The regional leaders noted that progress has been made in combating the terrorism though some areas are still under attack.

The insurgency in Cabo Delgado has resulted in the displacement of over 800 000 people.
