In a stunning revelation, Chipinge traditional healer, Julia Dadirai , has revealed that the two men who were released by mermaids after 46 years eat rice, drink whisky (Green Valley) and smoke cigarettes. Neshamba clarified that one of the men was released after 11 years, while the other one was released after 46 years.
However, she revealed that the two men are half men, half mermaids and their lower limbs are stuck together with scales like fish or a snake. She said they are currently not able to walk as they had stayed for long in the land of the mermaids.
She said mermaids live in underwater caves, which are dry after passing through a water body.
Julia said when she was a young girl, she was taken by mermaids and stayed under water for three weeks. She said her father, who was a great traditional leader went and asked for her to be released and she found herself out on the surface.
Julia said she was not allowed to see her mother for seven years and only went back to her father’s home when she was a powerful healer.
Julia appealed to the Zimbabwe government to come and assist her to take care of the two men, and said their return by mermaids is an important spiritual event in the history of Zimbabwe.
