MDC-T president Douglas Mwonzora has told party supporters in Marondera that he is ready to be prime minister in another Government of National Unity (GNU) with ED Mnangagwa.
Mwonzora said he was ready to follow in the footsteps of the late Morgan Tsvangirai who was Prime Minister in the 2008 — 2013 GNU arrangement with Robert Mugabe’s Zanu PF party.
Dr Clarence of Tv7 live said the formation of a GNU might come as a huge blow to Nelson Chamisa and his party.
He said the 2008 to 2013 GNU handed Zanu PF a new lease of life as the party came back rejuvenated and beat the MDC in the 2013 general elections.
Zanu PF has often ruled out the possibility of another GNU saying it enjoys two-thirds control of Parliament and is also confident of winning the 2023 general elections.
