ZAPU slams Mnangagwa for imposing harsh lockdown measures

ZAPU has slammed Emmerson Mnangagwa for imposing a harsh lockdown to curb the spread of Covid-19 while failing to promote economic activities.

In a statement, the party said the measures are being used as an excuse to ban Zimbabweans from returning home to vote.

“Our government seems to be waiting in anticipation of the next wave to close all democratic spaces and civil liberties”.

Mnangagwa on Tuesday announced a raft of new and enhanced measures to stem the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic following the discovery of a new variant in neighboring South Africa.

The party has therefore called for the review of the measures put in place to curb pandemic.
