MDC Alliance vice chairperson Job Sikhala has graduated with a Master of Law degree at Midlands University today.

Emmerson Mnangagwa presided over the graduation ceremony.

Posting on twitter, Job said despite the state persecution and arrest he remained focused to his studies.

“After spending much of my 2 years in prison at Chikurubi as a political prisoner I remained focused on my studies. Today I graduated with my Master of Laws (LLM) degree with Midlands State University (MSU) Title of thesis. The right to demonstrate & petition. Zimb as case study”

Sikhala rose to fame at the formation of MDC in 1999 and served as the party’s first St Mary’s legislator before breaking away to form his own party MDC-99.

He later re-joined the MDC and was elected mobilisation secretary.

Born in 1972,  he became well known after claiming to have been tortured by the President Robert Mugabe regime in 2001.

He claims he was tortured for eight hours with the protagonists even attaching electrodes to his genitals and giving him electric shocks.
