Nyaradzo funeral services has confirmed the deaths of many people after one of their buses collided with a haulage truck.
In a statement issued last night, Nyaradzo group CEO, Phillip Mataranyika said:
My heart goes out to the families of the deceased. We pray that the injured be restored to full health including our driver. The rains are upon us, so is the festive season which must be a period of merriment and celebration. I implore all road users to exercise caution on our roads so they don’t become death traps but, remain the bedrock on which our economic development and growth is built.
May the soul of those who lost their lives rest in eternal peace.
According to social media reports,
A fatal accident just took place along Harare Road along near Cement side turn in Bulawayo
involving a haulage truck and a Nyaradzo funeral service bus that was carrying mourners who were coming from burying their relative in Gweru.
Police were still trying to confirm the number of passengers who were killed at the scene. The driver of the haulage truck died at the scene.
