The President of the Republic of Zambia, His Excellency Hakainde Hichilema met Joaquim Alberto Chissano, the former president of Mozambique at state house on Tuesday afternoon.

Hichilema took to social media media to update Zambians about his meeting with Mozambique’s second president.

“We were honored this afternoon to host second President of Mozambican, His Excellency President Joaquim Alberto Chissano and his entourage.

We held talks on a wide range of issues concerning development and the well-being of the African continent on which he holds passionate interest. 

 

President Chissano is an old acquaintance of our late President Dr. Kenneth David Kaunda from the pre-independence days and and no stranger to the State House surroundings. He is an elder statesman and envoy for his country and the United Nations,” he posted on his social media pages.

Since his appointment as Zambia’s 7th president, Hakainde Hichilema has been holding meetings with politicians from different countries.

Last month, Hakainde Hichilema was invited into the white house by the vice president of the United States of America.
