Fugitive prophet, Shepherd Bushiri, has been taken to court after failing to pay rent for two leases in Pretoria.

City Press reports that PPS Property Trust fund is demanding R1. 9 million from Bushiri. This comes after Bushiri abandoned the two buildings that he rented from the fund.

PPS approached the Joburg High Court on 10 October to force Bushiri to pay up.

The newspaper says Bushiri failed to pay monthly rent of R27 255 for the main building and R54 510 for parking bays, resulting in arrears of R995 707.

PPS is demanding a further R1. 1 million in damages from Bushiri for abandoning the two leases.
