The Labour Resource and Research Institute Namibia (LaRRi) says 60% of Namibians are unemployed.

Unemployment rate in Namibia increased to 2.79 percent in 2020 from 2.04 percent in 2019.

In Namibia, the unemployment rate measures the number of people actively looking for a job as a percentage of the labour force.

In 2020 President Hage Geingob said the ruling party’s aims include to improve the high unemployment rate among young people, which by then stood at 46%.

Although the party has attained significant achievements since independence, he conceded more work still needs to be done.
