Zimbabwe Republic Police has arrested Thubelithle Khoshow (26) for killing six people with a knife, an axe and spears on Saturday at Stone Clare, Redcliff, Kwekwe.
The injured were referred to Kwekwe General Hospital where three juveniles aged seven, three and seven months died on admission.
According to a statement by Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, the suspect became mentally disturbed and acted violently whilst at his residential place at Stone Clare, Redcliff and his family took him to an Apostolic church shrine in Redcliff for prayers.
While there, he is understood to have escaped and driven back to an uncle’s house where he killed three children including a seven-month-old baby.
His uncle and other family members escaped through the bedroom window, he then tracked them down at a nearby policeman’s house, stabbed the policeman and two other bystanders and killed a 33-year-old man.
The suspect returned to his residence and stabbed to death two female adults aged 56 and 85 before raping his uncle’s wife.
