HIGH COURT has quashed corruption charges against former Health Minister Obadiah Moyo.

Moyo was arrested in June last year for awarding US$60m contracts to Drax International without following tender process.

Justice Kwenda freed Moyo arguing that the charges did not disclose elements that constitute an offence.

Moyo was represented in his court battle by prominent local lawyer Advocate Tawanda Zhuwarara.

The freeing of former Health minister Obadiah Moyo comes hardly 48 hours after ex-Finance minister Ignatius Chombo walked away a free man after he was removed him from remand on the remaining six counts of criminal charges he was facing.

Chombo was the first former minister to be arrested by President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s government as it claimed to be targeting criminals that surrounded the late former president Robert Mugabe before the 2017 military coup that toppled him and brought in the incumbent.
