President Emmerson Mnangagwa has demoted Cain Mathema as Minister of Primary and Secondary Education.
Mathema suffered a stroke while battling Covid-19 and remains hospitalised.
Mathema will return as minister without portfolio, when recovered.
The President has also named Evelyn Ndlovu as the new Primary and Secondary Education Minister.
The appointments are with effect from 30 September.
