The United States of America led by His Excellency Joe Biden has donated $18. 5 million to the Republic of Zambia.

The donation comes few days after Zambia’s President elect Hakainde Hichilema was invited at White House by Harris the vice president of United States.

The development has been confirmed by Hakainde Hichilema through his social media platforms.

Fellow citizens,

We are happy to announce that the United States government through USAID, has pledged an additional US$18.5 million funding to help us address covid19 induced challenges that have affected the country.

This has been made possible through our various engagements on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly. We are thankful to the people of America for their continued support.

In line with our commitment to zero tolerance for corruption, these resources will be prudently utilized.

Hakainde Hichilema
President of the Republic of Zambia
