A Zimbabwe United Passenger Company (Zupco) female conductor, Joy Moyo was shot dead last night in Dzivarasekwa 4, Harare at around 9pm.

The deceased was a conductor with a Lofombo bus operating under the Zupco franchise.

The sad news has been confirmed by prominent socialite, Wellece Mujuru.

Ever since ZUPCO became the main mode of public transport, many issues have arisen.

Zimbabweans have complained about the inefficiencies of this mode of transport and its inability to fulfil the transport gap.

In addition, many people who operated their private commuter’s were also pushed out of business  as Zupco became a monopoly.

As a result of the overcrowding in ZUPCOs women often compliant of being inappropriately touched amidst the crowding.

However, the President of Zimbabwe His Excellency Emmerson Mnangagwa recently Commissioned new zupco buses.

The government also introduced train shuttles so as to reduce congestion.
