The former President of Zambia, Edgar Chagwa Lungu has deleted his Facebook account following online abuse by Zambians.

Lungu lost the presidential elections to opposition leader Hakainde Hichilema during the 12th August elections.

After his defeat, Lungu has been facing online abuse by the Zambians who are believed to be supporters of Hakainde Hichilema.

However, Joseph Kalimbwe of Hakainde Hichilema’s party has took to social media to reveal that what people are doing to Lungu is not good at all.

“Its sad to see that Former President Edgar Lungu has had to take down & delete his Facebook page. Our differences with him were never personal but with the policies he pursued. The public must shift from attacking him online & move with us towards the path of nation building,” posted Joseph.

On Sunday afternoon Lungu also revealed that he is taking a break from politics meaning that he won’t compete for the upcoming elections.
