The newly elected president of Zambia, His Excellency Hakainde Hichilema has finally met one of his top followers.

The Zambian known as Patrick Mambwe cycled over 600 Kilometres to attend the inauguration of Hakainde Hichilema.

Hichilema took to social media to reveal that he has finally met his top fan.


“This afternoon we shared an inspiring moment with Patrick Mphande, who cycled over 600km from Mambwe District, Eastern Province to attend our inauguration ceremony.

People like Patrick encourage all of us to work hard to achieve our goals.

Thank you Patrick; for your visit and your continued support.

God bless our country,” posted Hakainde Hichilema.

Hichilema’s victory over incumbent leader Edgar Lungu was celebrated by millions of Zambians and opposition leaders of many African countries.

Opposition leaders who celebrated his victory include the leader of MDC Alliance, Nelson Chamisa.

It was also celebrated by former President of South Africa’s DA, Mmusi Maimane.

The opposition parties were further invited by Hakainde Hichilema to his inauguration which took place on the 24th of August 2021.
