Emmerson Mnangagwa Extends Level Four Lockdown by 2 More Weeks

The President of Zimbabwe, His Excellency Emmerson Mnangagwa has extended level four Lockdown by two more weeks.

In a statement, Monica Mutsvangwa said this has been necessitated by the fact that more effort is required to contain the third wave.

“This has been necessitated by the realisation that although there has been a notable decrease in the number of Covid-19 infections and deaths, more efforts are required to contain the third wave of the pandemic,” said Minister Mutsvangwa.

As at 24 August 2021, Zimbabwe had 123 320 confirmed cases, including 108 660 recoveries and 4 320 deaths.

To date, a total of 2 382 359 people have been vaccinated against COVID-19.

Yesterday, the country recorded 27 deaths.
