Zambia’s newly-elected leader Hakainde Hichilema has been sworn in as Zambia’s 7th president.

 

Hakainde Hichilema won a landslide victory over outgoing President Edgar Lungu.

 

The 59-year-old businessman-turned-politician took the oath of office in front of cheering crowds gathered at Heroes Stadium in the capital Lusaka.

 

The event was attended by many African Leaders which include Emmerson Mnangagwa, Cyril Ramaphosa, Uhuru Kenyatta, Mokgweetsi Masisi, Lazarus Chakwera among others.

 

It was also attended by many opposition leaders which include Nelson Chamisa, Mmusi Maimane among other politicians.

 

In his inaugural speech, President Hichilema promised Zambians that change has arrived.
