The Southern African Development Community (SADC) has appointed Mpedi Elias Magosi as the new Executive Secretary.
Magosi is the first Motswana to hold the position.He was up against DRC’s Dr Faustin Mukela.
Five countries who were assessing the candidates, unanimously made a consensus to elect Magosi against DRC’ s Prof Faustin Mukela Luanga.
He is replacing Tanzanian Stergomena Lawrence Tax who was facing allegations of looting and corruption
Elias Magosi was working in President Masisi’s office.
