The President of Malawi, Dr Lazarus Chakwera says he has completed bilateral talks with the President of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa.

Chakwera took to social media to reveal that he held a meeting with Ramaphosa so as to strengthen relations .

“President Cyril Ramaphosa of the Republic of South Africa and I just concluded bilateral talks at Kamuzu Palace, and I am thrilled by his enthusiasm for strengthening the ties between our nations,” posted Lazarus Chakwera.

Chakwera is expected to host a private dinner at Kamuzu Palace for Heads of State who are attending the SADC 41st Ordinary Summit.

According to Sean Kampondeni, President’s Executive Secretary and Director of Communications the, President intends to warmly welcome the other leaders and also hold discussions with them.

Yesterday he welcomed Cyril Ramaphosa, Emmerson Mnangagwa.

Among the attendees of the summit is Samia Sululu, the President of Tanzania who came to power after the untimely death of John Pombe Magufuli.

“Today I was honoured to welcome Her Excellency Madame Samia Sululu Hassan, President of the Republic of Tanzania at Kamuzu International Airport ahead of the 41st SADC Heads of State and Government Summit.

I want to thank the President, Dr Lazarus Chakwera for trusting me with this honourable task.
