The President of MDC Alliance, Nelson Chamisa says he personally called the newly elected president of Zambia, Hakainde Hichilema to congratulate him.

Chamisa took to social media to reveal that he personally called Hakainde Hichilema.

“I’m so humbled and excited to have received a call and personally congratulated my brother and President-elect His Excellency HHichilema.Join me to congratulate the people of Zambia🇿🇲who continue to inspire us all. We are next. Our turn as Zimbabwe is coming. We won’t disappoint! God is faithful,” posted Nelson Chamisa.

Hichilema defeated incumbent leader Edgar Lungu.

In the final results, Hichilema secured 2,810,777 votes while Lungu was in second place with 1,814,201 votes, out of 7 million registered voters.
