The President of the United Party for National Development, Hakainde Hichilema has called for peace following the death of ruling party politicians, Jackson Kungo and Emmanuel Chihili.

The two politicians were killed in cold blood yesterday.

According to a statement by the President of Zambia Edgar Lungu, the two politicians were brutally murdered by members of the opposition simply for holding different political views.

Following the death of his party members, the President deployed soldiers to atleast three provinces.

However, Hakainde Hichilema the perennial opposition challenger has urged Zambians to defend their votes in a peaceful way.

“Good morning Zambia! The data coming in is extremely positive and the will of the people is clear. But be alert – when an outgoing regime panics, it can resort to desperate measures. So stay calm and focused. We will protect our vote with peace and love in our hearts. Change is HERE,” he posted on Facebook.
