Former chairman and manager of Highlanders Football Club, Ernest Maphepha Sibanda has died.

Maphepha died this morning at Mater Dei Hospital in the city reportedly from diabetes.

Highlanders Football Club confirmed the passing of the legend through its different social media platforms.

Former Player, Manager and Chairman Ernest ‘Maphepha’ Sibanda has died.

Rest In Peace Legend,” tweeted Highlanders.

Maphepha achieved legendary status at Bosso when he led the team as manager to an unprecedented four domestic league titles in a row at the turn of the new millennium.

Maphepha played for Highlanders and Caps United football clubs, two of Zimbabwe’s biggest sides that rank up there with the leading team Dynamos.
