The President of the Republic of Botswana Mokgweetsi Masisi has arrived in Pemba, in the Republic of Mozambique to launch the SADC Mission in Mozambique (SAMIM).

Departing from Sir Seretse Khama airport this afternoon, the President said SADC remains committed to supporting its member states in matters of security as seen in the response to assist Mozambique in her fight against terrorism & violent extremism.

Last month the Republic of Botswana deployed soldiers to support the government of Mozambique in fighting the jihadists in the Cabo Delgado Region.
