Duduzane Zuma says he has begun processes in KwaZulu-Natal to contest the African National Congress (ANC) leadership at the next National Conference.

He says he has already started rounding up branch support in KwaZulu-Natal in a bid to run for ANC presidency.

He says when it comes to competition he is not looking at anybody else.

“I’m not here to compete against anybody. Because if you’re saying I’m competing against someone it means we walk in the same path. I’m walking a completely different path. We’re going to do things differently. And right now there’s no one in that lane, that’s a lane I’m creating because I believe that’s the only way we’re going to overturn and overhaul the situation,” he said.

However, it remains unclear just how much ground support he has within the ANC and the province.

The son of the former president was recently in hot water of late for his comments around the recent unrest.
