The South African Defence Forces (SANDF) has urged the public to refrain from committing acts of provocation or incitement against members.

This follows a viral social media video showing an individual alleged to be a taxi driver accosting a soldier on official patrol duty in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu Natal.

“It is illegal to interfere with any law enforcement official on duty regardless of the circumstances. The public is urged to refrain from committing acts of provocation or incitement against members of the SANDF,” said the SANDF in a statement.
