The President of Botswana Mokgweetsi Masisi is set to meet with her ambassador Victoria Nuland, Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs of the United States of America.

During their engagement, they will among others, discuss the political and security developments in the SADC region, the prevailing COVID-19 situation including vaccination programmes and other issues of mutual interest between Botswana and the United States of America.

The visit by Under Secretary Nuland, will be the first High-Level Visit to Botswana by a senior official under President Joseph Biden’s administration.

While in Botswana, the Under Secretary will also pay a courtesy call on Honourable Dr. Lemogang Kwape, Minister of International Affairs and Cooperation.

Botswana enjoys longstanding and fruitful relations with the United States of America.

The two countries have established excellent cooperation in various areas including in defence, health, trade, environment and education.
