A man who was arrested in Luweero district for allegedly circulating false news about President Museveni’s demise has been charged.
Jamir Ssekyondwa, a resident of Kabunyata trading Centre was arrested on Saturday.
His charges are offensive communication contrary to section 25 of the computer misuse act of 2011.
The arrest came after President Museveni, 76, directed security forces “to locate very quickly” and arrest those who had been spreading fake news about his death.
