Atleast four people who are suspected to be part of the group that assassinated Haitian President Jovenel Moise have been killed.

The police have also arrested two people who are also suspected to be behind the attack that left the first lady battling for her life at a local hospital.

President Jovenel Moise was assassinated on Wednesday morning at his private residence, just outside the capitol Port au Prince.

Following the assault, the First Lady was taken to the hospital in a critical condition. Quad Joseph the interior minister now in charge, and the injured with so easily.

Haiti’s communication secretary says the arrests have been made.

Meanwhile, authorities have declared a state of siege in the country, and the Prime Minister has asked the US for help with an international investigation, and a statement issued by the White House US President Joe Biden condemned what he called a heinous attack.

Prior to his assassination calls for the president’s resignation grew after voicing his failure to hold local and national elections that compounded by the delay of a constitutional referendum that was postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
