The President of CAF, Patrice Motsepe has revealed plans of an African Super league’

Motsepe said CAF has been following the attempts by some top European clubs to form a Euro Super League and will learn from their experience and pitfalls.

African soccer’s governing body is looking for additional revenue and Patrice Motsepe said such a project should “contribute to African soccer becoming competitive and self-sustaining.”

The South African, who took office last March, assured that CAF has observed the attempts of some big European clubs to form a Euro Super League and will learn from their experience and pitfalls.

European giant teams which include FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal among others had joined the Superleague.

However, UEFA threated to ban the clubs from its competition leading to the abandonment of the idea.

Teams like Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea among others were fined heavily by UEFA for attempting to take part in European Super league.
