Zimbabwe’s main opposition MDC Alliance party cadres and activists Cecilia Chimbiri and Netsai Marova will appear in court on 13 July on charges of allegedly participating in a gathering in Harare to cause public violence.
According to a document released by CID, the duo participated in a gathering with intent to promote public violence on 19 February 2020 at Haverst House, corner Nelson Mandela Avenue and street.
Other activists who are set to appear in court are Makomborero Haruzivishe, Allan Moyo, Ngaidzore and Stanley Manyenga.
Yesterday, Ziyambi Ziyambi warned opposition activists and journalists that the police will not hesitate to arrest them if they continue to cause public violence.
Marova Netsai and Cecilia Chimbiri were arrested and imprisoned with Member of Parliament for Harare West Costituency, Joana Mamombe last year and earlier this year.
