President Emmerson Mnangagwa has joined world leaders in mourning Kenneth Kaunda who died today in Lusaka aged 97.

In a statement released by the Mnangagwa’s office, the people of Zambia and Africa has lost a pan-africanist.

“On my behalf of the government and people of Zimbabwe, and indeed on my own behalf, I wish to convey our most sincere condolences to you, and through you to the Kaubda family, the government and people of Zambia, on this sad loss,” Said Mnangagwa.

Kenneth Kaunda became the first president of independent Zambia, serving from 1964 to 1991.
