Popular Award winning Zimbabwean journalist, Hopewell Chin’ono, has received yet another International award for journalism.

He took to Facebook to announce the development expressing his happiness.

Writing on Facebook, Chin’ono said :

“My Gatefield People Journalism Prize for Africa 2020 has been delivered this morning by DHL from Abuja, Nigeria.

“This is in recognition of my 2020 Covid-19 looting exposures which saw millions looted from the Government of Zimbabwe,” he said.

He revealed that it was his second time to receive an international recognition.

“It is the second time that I have won a continental journalism award after winning the overall CNN Africa Journalist of the year in 2008.

“I was jailed and politically persecuted by Mnangagwa and his regime for exposing the Covid-19 looting!

“As we stand today, he still wants me convicted and jailed for simply doing my work!

“I am grateful to ALL who have stood with me during this nightmare by Mnangagwa and his regime!

“I dedicate this award to all suffering journalists in Zimbabwe and the continent.”
