Zimbabwean veteran goalkeeper Washington Arubi was named Nedbank cup player of the tournament yesterday.

The 35-year old was instrumental in Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) getting their first ever silverware, the Nedbank Cup.

Arubi kept four clean sheets in the knockout tournament.

He walked away with R150 000 for his efforts.

Arubi won the award ahead of Peter Shalulile who was crowned DSTV Premier Soccer player of the season.

Arubi also won the award ahead of his teammate Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo, who scored in the quarter-finals and the only goal in the final.
