Obert Gutu is allegedly no longer a commissioner of National Peace and Reconciliation Commission (NPRC) after failing to relinquish his Zanu-PF membership.

Section 236, sub-section 3b of the constitution states that persons who are members of a political party or organisations on their appointment to an independent Commission must relinquish that membership without delay.

The section further states that one has to relinquish his membership card within thirty days of their appointment.

According to multiple reports Gutu has failed to relinquish his membership as required by the constitution.

However as it stands,  Gutu has not commented on the allegations that he failed to relinquish his Zanu-PF membership.
