Two MDC Activists finally acquitted by the supreme court following more than eight years in prison

Tungamirai Madzokere and Last Maengahama spent 8 years in prison convicted for what Fadzayi Mahere described as “conviction without a crime”.

The duo was sentenced 20 years in prison after they were accused of the murder of a police officer in Harare, Gleinview 2011.

The opposition activists were in Chikurubi Maxim Prison whereas the their activist who was convicted of the murder of Petros Mutedza was released in 2018.

As it stands the former convict is now an MP under the MDC-T led by Douglas Mwonzora who is seen by many as a Zanu-PF puppet.

Meanwhile MDC officials have reacted to the decision by High Court with the likes of Fadzayi Mahere criticising the judiciary for its decision for acquitting the duo for 8 years without proof
