Scores of South Africans have expressed their delight on social media after the announcement that men will be allowed ti contest in Miss South Africa 2021.
This week, the organization announced that entries for the search for the next beauty queen will open until June 24.
Under the criteria from Miss South Africa 2021, male to female transgender entrance will be eligible to enter the pageant.
It also says trans women are eligible to enter the South Africa pageant. However, those who are eligible to compete internationally.
The contestants must be in possession of a valid South African ID document, reflecting that they amended sex is female.
An analyst, Steve said :
Section nine of the Constitution says nobody should be discriminated on the basis of their sex and genda, it’s actually now being put into action, and I think Miss South Africa has made an excellent move!Â
