MDC A Zengeza West legislator Job Sikhala has been blocked from seeing incarcerated activists Legwani Mavhunga and Munyaradzi Mafararikwa who are being kept at Harare Remand prison.
Posting on twitter, Sikhala said he has confronted parliamentary affairs minister Ziyambi Ziyambi over the issue.
“I hv phoned the Min of Justice, Legal & Parliamentary Affairs Ziyambi Ziyambi who is responsible for prison services tht the system they are creating is dangerous and will 1 day come back to bite thm. Hw wld a registered legal practitioner like myself denied right 2 see clients”
Sikhala said when he got there, a prison officer by the name Chibwe told him that Commissioner General of Prisons had ordered that he should be allowed to see them.
Legwani Mavhunga was arrested for showing solidarity to Sikhala was tortured in police custody. He was reportedly hospitalized after the alleged torture.
