Sunday World reports that Bishop Joshua Maponga is suing religious activist, Solomon Izang Ashoms, for R5 million.

The newspaper says Maponga has filed an urgent application to Interdict Ashoms from further defaming him and to pay him R5 Million.

In a post on his Facebook account, Ashoms wrote :

As a Bishop and Theologian, you lost the authority to question how many days Jesus spend in the grave the moment I discovered you’ve been engaging in adulterous relationships with other women despite being married. …Hypocrisy!

Christianity is NOT about head knowledge, it’s about heart knowledge

In his court papers, Maponga said he has lost endorsement deals after Ashoms posted his statements on Facebook. He also claimed that his marriage will be negatively affected by the posts.

Maponga said Ashoms refused to remove the posts after his lawyers wrote him a letter asking him to pull down the posts.

In response, Ashoms told the newspaper that he will prove that he is not lying about Maponga’s cheating at the right time.
