Zimbabwe’s former Vice President Joyce Mujuru celebrates her 65th birthday today.

Mujuru was born in 15 April 1955 and she was the only woman who trained in Lusaka.

At 21 years age, the former vice president was the camp commander at the Chimoio military and refugee camp in Mozambique.

Mujuru served as Zimbabwe’s vice President from 2004 to 2014. Previously she had served as a government minister.

The freedom fighter was married to late Solomon Mujuru until his death in 2011.

Mujuru was a potential successor to Robert Mugabe before she was denounced for allegedly plotting against Mugabe and as a result Mujuru lost her position in the party leadership.

She was expelled from the party a few months later and she then formed Zimbabwe People First Party.
