Nyasha Mugwagwa a Zimbabwean man who had gone missing in Mozambique has been confirmed dead following a terrorist attack by Islamic insurgents.

38-year-old Nyasha Mugwagwa was working at a facility in Palma, northeast Mozambique when the coastal town was attacked and overran by Islamic State-linked insurgents on March 24. Since then, he had been missing.

His family and friends launched a spirited campaign to have him returned home however, it was confirmed that Mugwagwa was killed on March 28.

‌His family is focusing on efforts to repatriate Mugwagwa’s remains back home for burial.

He is survived by a wife and a one-year-old child.
