Job Sikhala has heavily criticised Tafadzwa Mugwadi for celebrating Makomborero’s sentencing.

In a statement to South Africa’s eNCA News, Mugwadi praised the judiciary for sentencing Makomborero.

However, Sikhala who has been arrested and jailed at Chikurubi was not happy with Mugwadi’s words.

“Tafadzwa Mugwadi’s statement with eNCA News praising the jailing of @MakomboreroH is the low of the lowest I hv seen from a ZANU PF functionary. How on earth will someone celebrates the incarceration of another person even if you hate that person. What goes around comes around,” tweeted Sikhala.

Zimbabwe pro-democracy activist Makomborero Haruzivishe was sentenced to 14 months in jail, a week after being convicted for inciting public violence and resisting arrest.

The 28-year-old, an outspoken critic of Zimbabwe’s government, was jailed for 24 months on the first count of incitement, and 12 months for resisting arrest. Ten of the 24 months and six of the 12 months were suspended. With the two sentences to run concurrently, Haruzivishe will serve 14 months in prison.
