Former finance minister Tendai Biti says ED Mnangagwa’s regime must accept that de-dollarisation has failed and failed in absolute terms.
Posting on twitter, Biti said virtually every service offered by the State is now priced in the US$ be it toll gates, passports, fuel, taxes, number plates, drugs,various fees and charges.
He said the de-dollarisation has proved to be an absolute failure yet the regime remains stuck in the myth of its own currency.
Many economic analyst say that the elective formal dollarisation is corruption and subjective thus the regime must repeal SI 142 and formally dollarise immediately.
