The President of Movement for Democratic Change, Douglas Mwonzora has congratulated Warriors Captain Knowledge Musona and the rest of the team for qualifying for Afcon Finals.
“Congratulations to Capt Knowledge Musona and the Warriors on qualifying for a 3rd successive AFCON appearance after beating Botswana 1-0 yesterday. The Warriors now need to prepare fully for the AFCON finals in Cameroon. The whole nation is behind you,” said Mwonzora in a tweet.
Perfect Chikwende’s goal against Botswana secured three points for the warriors.
The Afcon finals will be hosted by defending champions Cameroon in 2022
Zimbabwe qualified after Zambia, needing a win to keep their Hope’s alive drew 3-3 with Algeria in Lusaka.
Zimbabwe Warriors finished on second spot with Algeria top of the group.
The Warriors are set to host Zambia in an encounter that would be held at National Sports stadium on 29 March, 2021.
